Privacy Policy for Internet Banking

Farmers Savings Bank recognizes and respects our responsibility to protect our customers’ private information. The success of our financial institution depends heavily on the level of trust and confidence it enjoys with it’s depositors. We do not collect unique identifying information about you individually unless you voluntarily and knowingly provide us that information. We do collect general information about your visit, such as when you accessed our site, which pages you accessed, and what Internet provider you used when you accessed our site. You may elect to provide us with more specific information, such as when you give us feedback or send us an e-mail. If you provide us this information, it is used only internally and in furtherance of the purpose for which it was provided.

Maintenance of Accurate Information

We have implemented procedures to help us assure that our customer’s financial information is accurate, current and complete within reasonable standards. While some procedures are required by Federal or State law, we also have procedures to correct inaccurate information in a timely manner. If you believe any of the information is in error, or believe any information collected about you has been used for an improper purpose, please contact us by calling 319-372-5141 so we may take appropriate action.

Limited Employee Access to Information

We have procedures and security levels that limit employee access to information to those with a business reason to know such information. The importance of confidentiality and consumer privacy is stressed in staff training.

Personal financial information is private, and Farmers Savings Bank holds all account information in strict confidence. The bank will not reveal information about customers accounts, former customers accounts, or other personally identifiable data to unaffiliated third parties for their use, except for the exchange of information with reputable information reporting agencies or in the performance of bona fide corporate due diligence or business matters, unless (1) the information is provided to complete a customer initiated transaction; (2) the customer requests and permits it; (3) the disclosure is required or allowed by law (subpoena, request by regulator, etc.); (4) the customer has been informed about the possibility of disclosure for marketing or similar purposes and has been give the opportunity to decline (“opt out”).

Maintaining Customer Privacy in Business Relationships with Third Parties

It may be necessary, at times, to provide information about our customers to a third party, such as a vendor or service company we hire to do an audit. An example would be an accounting firm that performs periodic audits to make sure our records are accurate. This protects our customers from possible errors in our records. These third parties agree to safeguard our customer information and they must abide by applicable law.
